CM Vijayan had exuded confidence of securing power in Kerala once again
Incumbent Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has taken the lead from the Dharmadam constituency in the initial round of vote counting for Kerala assembly election. He is leading by 3,351 votes so far. The CPI (M) CM had won the seat in 2016 elections with almost 37,000 votes.

Malcolm Campbell, a longtime publishing executive for national music publications including SPIN, Blender, the Fader and Rolling Stone, died on April 29 at his home in City Island, New York. Campbell, 61, had been battling a recurrence of pancreatic cancer that had first been identified the previous year.
“With heavy hearts, we announce the loss of our beloved Malcolm Campbell, who passed away peacefully at home on April 29th, 2021 at 10 pm,” read an update on the GoFundMe page set up by friends of Campbell’s on behalf of his wife Charlene to help pay for medical bills. “He was surrounded by his family and CC, his loyal dog by his side,” the note continued. “There are no words to describe the devastation that is felt by all. Malcolm impacted the lives of countless individuals, friends, and family.”
ONE of the world s oldest working railway steam locomotives is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Beamish Museum s Coffee Pot No. 1, was built in 1871 on Teesside by Head Wrightson & Co for Dorking Greystone Lime Company for use at its Betchworth Quarry in Surrey. To celebrate the locomotive s amazing 150th anniversary year, visitors to Beamish will be able to watch Coffee Pot in action today, May 1, on the museum s 1900s Colliery Railway. Coffee Pot will be joined by four other steam locomotives on the museum s Colliery and narrow gauge railways during the day. The celebration will be part of Beamish s participation in the national online #TwitterSteamRally2 event.
